Episode 54: “Until we have seen someone’s darkness, we don’t really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone’s darkness, we don’t really know what love is.” – Marianne Williamson. Soulful Conversation with Nadjejda Chapoteau

I’m excited and nervous to share this latest episode because it’s pretty raw, as I’m still in the process of developing a more concise way to share my story. However I know not only there’s no such thing as perfection, it will be clearer the more I share it.

I chose to share my story in this week’s episode because I recently found out through 2 people I trust that they didn’t know my story. At first I was like, really??? But then after giving it some thought I realized I’ve shared bits and pieces of my story in different ways but it has never been shared like this.

In this week’s episode I share about some of my upbringing years, childhood experiences like being teased for my height and weight, feeling like I’m weird for loving to dance around in my room, growing up being the “good girl” and not really allowing myself to explore and get to know who I am. I also shared about my self-love journey which is very much linked to getting to know myself and embracing the darkness and the light in me.

Learning to embrace and love myself fully allows me to stand with others and be able to stand on my own when necessary.

Thinking about it there’s much more I could share and I will at another time as I didn’t want this episode to be too long.

My intention in sharing my story with you is to invite you to get to know me more, relate to me, and for you to benefit from some of the steps I took to know and love myself more. I hope it will inspire you in your own life.
