Episode 58:  – Loving myself means having the courage to let go of people who are no longer in alignment with who I’ve become. – Soulful Conversation with Nadjejda Chapoteau

In this week’s episode I share about courage and self-talk as they relate to self-love. Regarding courage I specifically share about some people’s response to me sharing my me too story in a courageous way and experiences that led me to realize how I became this courageous. I’m still in awe of myself many times, the more I push the envelope the more I’m like wow I did this…I said this….

I discuss the importance of being mindful of our self-talk and how it relates to self-love. I share myself authentically about an experience in a relationship when I had to let go of someone who wasn’t in alignment with who I had become.

I also talk about how most women blame themselves a lot, we are hard on ourselves and even take responsibility for things and people we are not responsible for.

I want to add for those of us who have been assaulted and/or have trauma due to this or from any event we experienced in our lives, what happened isn’t our fault. Our healing is our responsibility. Not doing so keeps us stuck and we’re given our power over and over again to the individual and/or event until we choose the healing path.

The book I mentioned regarding the importance of healing our traumas is entitled The Deepest Well by Dr. Nadine Burke Harris.
