Episode 51: “In spite of the prevailing tendency to conform, we have a mandate to be nonconformists.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Soulful Conversation with Kat Kim

Kat Kim is a Licensed New Thought Spiritual Practitioner, Divine Confidence Coach, and creator of the Soul of Beauty Masterclass. Kat works with nonconformist spiritual seekers who know deep within their bones they’re being called to make a contribution to society discover an unshakeable faith in knowing who they are, and what they’re here to do. Kat has served on the set of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s motivational reality TV show called Wake Up Call that aired nationally on TNT, and is currently a minister-in-training with a sailor’s mouth.

Kat and I are soul sisters, I enjoy talking to her which is why I invited her back on my podcast. We talk a lot behind the scenes and have helped each other understand some things as we’ve provided a safe space for each other to process some things before sharing them publicly. She’s a powerful woman who is making a big impact in the world, she’s the real deal and I’m thankful to be in this journey with her! We both got pretty vulnerable sharing ourselves during our recorded conversation. 🙂

Before I delve into some of the content of this episode, I want to let you know I’ll be taking a short break from my podcast as I shake things up a bit in my business and personal life. I’m choosing to be braver, I’ll share more on this soon.

During our conversation Kat Kim and I discussed what she calls consumer spirituality and how it has and continues to impact us individually and collectively. She shared her experience with consumer spirituality and what led her to dig deeper and realized certain things that no longer work for her. We talked about why having more things doesn’t make us happy but yet we’re often being told to get more and how the individualistic way of thinking we’ve been thought by many spiritual leaders is not only hurting society especially those who are being marginalized and suffering, it negatively impacts us as well.

We also discussed other topics of the day like the current political climate in the U.S. and social justice. We both hope listening to this will help you in your journey and will bring some understanding and different perspectives to some things you were having a hard time embracing in your own spiritual journey.

Enjoy our empowering, inspiring, enlightening, and soulful conversation below and share your thoughts with us in the comment section below; we’d love to hear back from you! If you found this helpful, please share it. Remember sharing is caring, thank you!
