Episode 41: “Believe you can do it & you will” – Soulful Conversation with Yahalia G. Franklin
Yahalia G. Franklin is a mother of 3 beautiful girls, an Inspirational Speaker & Entrepreneur. She’s passionate about discussing mass incarceration and the effects in the Black & Brown communities. She speaks at schools & Youth Centers encouraging the young adults how not to fall prey of the school to prison pipeline.
Yahalia enjoys empowering the youth to think outside the box and changing their thoughts on a more realistic world. She has a book coming out discussing the effects of mass incarceration. As well as an Inspirational Workbook “Building Inner Strength & Power For A Better You.”
During our conversation Yahalia and I discussed community engagement, her passion, and work in preventing mass incarceration through working with the Youth in South Florida. She believes we are all able to make an impact in our communities by following our passions, I completely agree with her. She shared why and how she chose mass incarceration as her passion to follow and make a difference in her community. She also shared great tips for you on how to get engaged in your community and make an impact through your passion and values.
I chose to feature Yahalia on Black History month because as a fellow black woman I admire her dedication and wanted to inspire others to get engaged in their communities as well through their passions.
In light of another shooting that occurred yesterday in Florida, this is again another call for regular citizens to take action. Whatever cause that matters to you, I hope you’ll find the courage to stand up and take action if you haven’t done so. You matter, your voice matters, and we need you!
