“Don’t die with your music still inside you"This past weekend I was having thoughts about quitting my business, I didn’t share that with anyone but it was very much on my mind and a lot more this time than other times when these thoughts had come up.

When I heard about Spiritual teacher, speaker and author,  Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s passing this past Sunday night, I was shocked, sad and very grateful for his teachings. After the news started really sinking in and many people on social media were paying their respects by honoring him, it dawn on me how he had profoundly impacted my spiritual journey especially the current journey that I’m in of following my passion of making a difference by empowerment people as an entrepreneur.

Wayne Dyer’s influence in my entrepreneurial journey

I remembered that I started this journey with him. On September 7, 2012, the last day at my 9-5 job I attended a Hay House I Can Do It Conference and that night which was the start of the conference Dr. Dyer was the keynote speaker and the topic was based on his book, Wishes Fulfilled. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I’m nearing my 3rd year anniversary from stepping out on my own and it has been quite a journey thus far. The most transformative years of my life so far. I’ve never felt more alive and I’ve really experienced living and not just existing.

As I was thinking about that quote featured in the image here probably my most favorite one from him, I recalled how one of my colleagues who was in a remote office asked me after I had given my notice at my 9-5 job if my leaving had anything to do with my Skype profile headline which is: Tweet it![tweetable]Follow your passion! “Don’t die with your music still inside you.”[/tweetable] I hadn’t shared my plans with most people at work.  I had some ideas but I wasn’t very clear about what I was going to do at the time, I just knew this wasn’t it.

Being an empowerment coach, well any coach and an entrepreneur is not easy. As someone told me the other day and I completely agree, entrepreneurship is a spiritual practice if I choose to see it as such and I know I have especially because of my own spiritual journey. Entrepreneurship among many other things involves all of your stuff/unhealed wounds coming up and requires lots of inner work as you continue to show up for those you serve. As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I’ve had thoughts about quitting my business which meant giving up on following my passion and not sharing my music with many. I never regretted leaving my job but there are times when I’ve questioned my current path. It just so happens that some of these thoughts were on my mind around the time of Wayne Dyer’s passing and they were much stronger that time. However,  I’ve been inspired and motivated to not quit and stay the course because what I do is truly my passion and the right one I choose to turn into my career and I know in some way giving up would be like killing a huge part of me.

While I know that I can still follow my passion in other ways because coaching is something I do naturally, I know I cannot impact the same number of people’s lives if I were to walk away form my business. These past few days I got how I’ve really been doing my best to live his teachings and share my love and light with the world. I know that through my work and just me showing up as my authentic self is how I will continue to do so and honor him.

My realization regarding his teachings, me and his legacy

I admired him and I’d say I put him really up there as he appeared so grand and yet also seemed to be so humble and simple at the same time. I saw him as someone I would probably never be able to fully live what he taught. However, seeing many of his quotes, listening to some of his talks and interviews, I’ve gotten that I and many around the world have been touched by him and are doing our best to live his teachings and share our own light with the world. He left us an amazing legacy and I am in awe of it. I definitely want to continue doing my part in sharing my love and light with the world. Wayne Dyer is a true symbol of love and light!

He sure didn’t die with his music still inside him. I’m committed to not die with mine and will continue to inspire you and others to do the same.

Aside from following my passion and sharing my music with others, Wayne Dyer among many things taught me to not allow myself to be offended and as he says to transcend my ego and choose peace. Just this past weekend on Saturday I something came up and it felt so good when I automatically chose to not be offended. His teachings on not being offended came to mind. For that and more, I am eternally grateful to have experienced being on this side while he was here with us.

Thank you and RIP Dr. Wayne Dyer!  My condolences to his family and loved ones, prayers, love and light to them.

12 Wayne Dyer quotes I choose to live by

Sharing 12 quotes that I’ve really been doing my best to live by and are some of my favorites, there are so many from him. 🙂 And I’m inviting you to live them as well if they resonate with you.

“I am realistic – I expect miracles.”
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
“Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world.”
“Take no offense. That which offends you only weakens you. Being offended creates the same destructive energy that offended you in the first place – so transcend your ego and stay in peace.”
“You cannot be lonely if you like the person you are alone with.”
“I will attract into my life what I am not what I want.”
“We are not our bodies, our possessions, or our careers. Who we are is divine love. And that is infinite.”
“Love is my gift to the world. I fill myself with love, and I send that love out into the world. How others treat me is their path; how I react is mine.”
“Don’t die with your music still inside you. Listen to your intuitive inner voice and find what passion stirs your soul. Listen to that inner voice, and don’t get to the end of your life and say, ‘What if my whole life has been wrong?”
“When the choice is to be right or to be kind, always make the choice that brings peace.”
“Circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him.”
